The Municipal Labour Officer, Mr Edward Boampong, told the GNA in an interview that committee had been set up to deal with all aspects of child rights and abuses.

He said the committee has been able to secure sponsorship from the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Ghana Cocoa Board and Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly.

Mr. Boampong said community durbars would be held in communities to discuss ways of eradicating the worst forms of child labour.

He said a Community Child Protection Committee would be set up to monitor the activities of cocoa farmers so as to tackle the problem at the grass root.
