The Chief of Adjinase near Nsawam, Nana Ismail Tetteh Ahingwah II, has appealed to the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly and the Eastern Regional Director of Feeder Roads to act to arrest the continued deterioration of the Nsawam/ Pakro road.
He said the road was in such a “terrible condition” that it was becoming increasingly unmotorable especially when it rained.
Speaking to newsmen at Nsawam, the chief said for more than 10 years no serious efforts had been made to improve the condition of the road.
He said it was learnt that a contract was awarded last year but nothing had been done and that it was clear that the contractor was incapable of executing the job.
Nana Ahingwah appealed to the authorities to re-award the contract to make it possible for residents in the area to transport their farm produce to marketing centres without difficulties.
He said with the onset of the rains erosion had destroyed large stretches of the road.
