The outgoing US Ambassador to Ghana, Ms. Kathryn Dee Robinson, on Friday night wished Ghanaians well in their efforts to find solutions to the difficult times they are facing economically.

She said even though Ghana is now facing difficult times, with determination and perseverance, she could overcome her problems.

Ms. Robinson said this in an interview with newsmen before her departure to the US after three years duty tour of the country.

She said she was carrying with her fond memories of Ghana, especially the historic political transition she was privileged to witness, and the hospitality of Ghanaians.

She described herself as a friend of Ghana and hoped to contribute in her private capacity to promote the interests of Ghana.

Ms. Robinson expressed her gratitude to the government and the good people of Ghana in their efforts to build a strong democracy.

She said the interaction between the two countries had deepened and relations more cordial and hoped to follow events in the country with keen interest through the Internet to update herself.

The outgoing ambassador said she was retiring from active Foreign Service after 25 years and hoped to settle in the US where she had not stayed for the past 25 years.

She was seen off at the Airport by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim Omar , Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Mr. Amon Tanoye, Ivorian Ambassador to Ghana, and officials of the US Embassy.
