Clubs from five nations — the Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Kenya and Chad — have been banned from continental club competition this year.The Confederation of African Football (CAF) disqualified the teams because their national federations "failed to fulfil financial obligations to the Confederation".
APR (Rwanda), Renaissance (Chad) and Tusker (Kenya) will miss out playing in this year's Champions League.
Tourbillon (Chad) and Rayon Sports (Rwanda) will not be allowed to take part in the Confederation Cup.
Second-round byes will be given to the banned team's opposition which include Egypt's Zamalek and DR Congo's TP Mazembe in the Champions League.
The decision was made by Caf's executive committee, whose membership includes Chad and Rwanda.
First round first-leg matches in both the Champions League and Confederation Cup are scheduled for February 15-17.
