The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa, Mr. Kwadwo Agyei-Addo has urged stakeholders in education to help stem the low standard
of education in the district.
Mr Agyei-Addo made the call when he distributed a quantity of mathematical sets and stationery to all Junior High School (JHS) 3 students at Begoro, Obooho and Ahomahomasu on Monday.
He expressed concern over the poor academic performance of students in last year's BECE in which five schools in the district obtained zero per cent.
Mr Agyei-Addo also donated three solar lamps and three re-chargeable lanterns to the JHSs, which have not been connected to electricity.
He urged the beneficiary schools to utilize the items to improve on the academic performance of the students.
In a related development, the Fanteakwa District Directorate of Education has distributed 200 radio sets worth 200 Ghana cedis to Kindergarten teachers in deprived areas to enable them to have access to current education issues.
The District Director of Education, Ms Marry Animwah urged teachers in accessible areas to make good use of the mass media and read wide to improve upon their communication skills.
She commended the MP for Fanteakwa on his gesture and appealed to other stakeholders to contribute to education development in the district.
