The Wirempenhene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, Nana Kobina Ekwam X, has dismissed rumours circulating within the Gomoa Ekwamkrom community that the Supreme Court has ruled that Dr. Edmund Kaito is the substantive chief of Gomoa Ekwamkrom.

Addressing the media on the ongoing Gomoa Ekwamkrom chieftaincy dispute, Nana Kobina Ekwam X stated emphatically that the claims being circulated were false and should be disregarded by the public.

Sharing his reaction to the recent Supreme Court ruling, he noted that the information being spread across the community was far from the truth.

Speaking during a recent media engagement aimed at setting the record straight, Nana Kobina Ekwam X said the briefing provided an opportunity to explain the court's decision, clarify issues surrounding the long-standing chieftaincy dispute, and communicate his position to the people of Gomoa Ekwamkrom and the general public.

According to him, as residents continue to follow developments regarding the dispute, many are hopeful of a peaceful resolution that will promote unity, stability, and lasting peace within the community.

He further assured residents that Gomoa Ekwamkrom would, in due course, have a substantive chief from the Ekwam Royal Gate, whom he described as the rightful heirs to the Gomoa Ekwamkrom Black Stool. He maintained that no other lineage has a legitimate claim to the stool, adding that this has been the established pattern of succession since time immemorial.

Nana Kobina Ekwam X urged the people to remain calm and law-abiding, expressing confidence that the matter would soon be resolved and normalcy restored to the community.
