The Ghana Adventist Health Services (GAHS) has received 340 hospital beds for distribution across its healthcare facilities in Ghana, supporting efforts to improve patient comfort and strengthen healthcare delivery.
The acquisition was supported by a US$50,000 donation from Loma Linda University Health and Adventist Health International in the United States of America. This support reflects the longstanding partnership between the institutions and GAHS in advancing healthcare in Ghana.
At the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday October 28, 2026, Dr. James Antwi, Director of GAHS, expressed appreciation to both institutions for their continued support. He said the beds would help beneficiary facilities improve the care environment and provide patients with greater comfort and dignity.
Dr. Antwi also appealed to local and international organisations, development partners and other stakeholders to support GAHS in its mission to provide quality and holistic healthcare to the good people of Ghana. He reaffirmed the network’s commitment to serving communities across Ghana and welcomed partnerships that would strengthen its services.
This landmark beds revamp program forms part of GAHS’s continuing efforts to equip its facilities and improve the patient experience, demonstrating how sustained partnerships can provide practical support for healthcare delivery.
GAHS currently oversees 42 Seventh-day Adventist hospitals, clinics and health training institutions across Ghana. It is the country’s third-largest provider of primary healthcare, delivering services guided by Christian principles.
