The Ghana Police Service has arrested Samuel Osei Anto Christopher, who was wanted in connection with the killing of two people at NTHC Estate, Sakumono.
The suspect’s arrest was announced in a social media post on November 1, 2026, with the Police confirming that he had been apprehended at his hideout.
Before his arrest, the Police had launched a search for Christopher and offered a GH¢100,000 reward to anyone who provided credible information leading to his capture.
The suspect was wanted in connection with the deaths of 57-year-old George Atuguba and his 47-year-old niece, Irene Atuguba, who were killed at their residence on Friday, October 30, 2026.
The case also involves Beatrice Mumuni, a 47-year-old woman who was arrested earlier in connection with the incident.
Preliminary police information suggests that the incident may have followed a dispute over an alleged GH¢500,000 debt owed by George Atuguba.
According to the initial account, Christopher allegedly visited the victims’ residence with Mumuni to demand repayment of the money. A misunderstanding reportedly followed, during which the suspect allegedly shot the two relatives.
The victims were rushed to the hospital but were pronounced dead. Their bodies were subsequently deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
In its earlier statement dated October 30, the Police confirmed Mumuni’s arrest and declared Christopher wanted to assist with investigations into the killings.
His arrest is expected to assist investigators in establishing the circumstances surrounding the incident and examining the accounts provided by those connected to the case.
The Police have indicated that further information about the arrest will be communicated.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the deaths of George Atuguba and Irene Atuguba continues. The allegations against Christopher remain subject to the ongoing investigation and the judicial process.
