Management of Ho Technical University has directed all students to return to campus ahead of the resumption of full academic activities on Monday, November 2, 2026, following the suspension of the nationwide strike by the Technical University Teachers’ Association of Ghana (TUTAG).
The decision comes after TUTAG announced the immediate suspension of its industrial action, allowing teaching and learning to resume across all 10 technical universities in the country.
The Association said the decision was reached by its National Congress, its highest decision-making body, at a meeting held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
The meeting involved TUTAG leadership, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), representing the Ministry of Education, and the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities, Ghana (VCTU-G).
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Friday, October 30, 2026, TUTAG National President, Prof. Deodat E. Adenutsi, said the suspension reflected the Association’s goodwill and confidence in the ongoing negotiations.
TUTAG has consequently asked students to report to their respective campuses from Monday to resume lectures and other academic activities.
The Association has also appealed to university authorities to ensure that no student suffers academic disadvantages because of the strike, particularly newly admitted students who were unable to report to campus earlier.
Following the directive, Ho Technical University Management has urged both fresh and continuing students to make the necessary arrangements and return to campus for the commencement of academic work.
