Raymond Archer has been confirmed as the substantive Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), with his appointment taking effect from October 27, 2026.
EOCO Board Chairman Daniel Domelevo confirmed that Mr Archer officially assumed the position on the effective date.
Mr Archer, a former investigative journalist, had been leading the institution in an acting capacity since August 2025, following his appointment to replace Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah.
EOCO is mandated to investigate and prosecute economic and organised crimes, including money laundering, human trafficking and other related offences.
Under Mr Archer’s leadership, the Office has been involved in several high-profile investigations, including a case involving dancehall artiste Shatta Wale over a Lamborghini Urus reportedly linked by US authorities to a $4 million fraud investigation.
The Office has also arrested Dennis “Miracles” Aboagye, a former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), over alleged financial and procurement irregularities involving approximately GH¢55 million.
Mr Archer is expected to lead efforts to strengthen EOCO’s operations and advance its mandate of tackling economic and organised crime in Ghana.
