The Member of Parliament for Garu, Dr Thomas Winsum Anabah, has commissioned three basic schools and a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to enhance access to education and healthcare across the constituency.
The projects are located at Kugrasia, Tinsung and Gbeliginvuus, where the schools have been constructed, while the new CHPS compound is situated at Kolmasug.
The facilities are expected to address critical infrastructure deficits and improve access to essential social services for residents of the Garu District.
Speaking during visits to the project sites to inspect progress before their completion, Dr Anabah said the initiatives formed part of his commitment to improving living standards and promoting sustainable development in the constituency.
While describing all four projects as significant interventions, he highlighted the CHPS compound as particularly important because of its potential to bring quality healthcare closer to residents in underserved communities.
Dr Anabah reaffirmed his commitment to supporting development projects aimed at expanding access to essential services and improving the wellbeing of constituents.
The Garu District Director of Health, Hyppolyte Yeledour, said the new CHPS compound would help address longstanding challenges health workers had faced in delivering healthcare services to residents.
He expressed confidence that the facility would strengthen healthcare delivery, improve access to essential medical services, and contribute to better health outcomes, particularly for people living in surrounding communities.
The commissioning of the facilities is expected to boost educational and healthcare infrastructure in the Garu District and support broader efforts to improve social service delivery across the area.
