Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fawzia Yakubu Abagnamah, has launched her re-election campaign by extending support to 200 widows in the Tempane District.
Madam Fawzia, who is seeking a second term as the party’s regional women’s organizer, presented each of the widows with half a piece of cloth and financial assistance as part of activities marking the launch of her campaign.
She said beginning her campaign with the widows reflected her commitment to women and communities across the Upper East Region, adding that the gesture continued her support for women in all 15 constituencies.
In a message announcing the campaign launch, Madam Fawzia said she deliberately chose to begin the next phase of her political journey with women whose strength and resilience continued to sustain their families and communities.
According to her, the engagement was not only about providing material support but also about seeking the prayers and blessings of the women as she pursued another mandate to lead the NDC women’s wing in the region.
“I went to ask for one thing in return, their prayers,” she said.
She added that she wanted to begin the second phase of her political journey with the blessings of women who understood the meaning of strength and resilience.
Madam Fawzia is campaigning under the message “Proof, not promises” as she seeks to retain her position as the NDC Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer.
The NDC regional executive elections are scheduled for November 14 and 15, 2026, across the country.
Madam Fawzia will contest the election as candidate number one on the ballot as she seeks re-election for a second term.
