Former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, says a significant number of Ghanaians who voted for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections have grown disillusioned and now regret choosing President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, he claimed that the dissatisfaction is widespread.
“If you go out there now, majority of Ghanaians who voted for the NDC in 2024 have regretted voting for Mahama,” he said.
According to him, many voters had high expectations ahead of the elections but are now disappointed with the current state of affairs.
“They thought things were going to be better. But what they are seeing now is not what they were told,” he added during the interview.
He argued that ordinary citizens across various sectors are expressing regret.
“Go and talk to the ordinary Ghanaian who voted for the NDC — the traders, the drivers, the teachers, the professionals. Most of them are regretting.”
Nana Obiri Boahen insisted that the prevailing conditions have exposed the shortcomings of the NDC government.
“The people have seen it clearly. That is why I am saying majority of Ghanaians who voted for the NDC in 2024 have regretted.”
He concluded by asserting that many Ghanaians are already looking back to the NPP for direction and hope.
