Voting in the Adaklu Constituency National Democratic Congress (NDC) Executive elections, which are supposed to start at 0800 hours, has not started when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) got there at 0930 hours.
A contestant, who chose to remain anonymous, told the GNA that the delay was due to the absence of officials from the party's regional office who were to coordinate the elections.
He stated that voting would begin immediately when they arrived.
An official of the Adaklu District Electoral Office corroborated what the contestant said.
He noted that his outfit was ready for the elections and said immediately the party representatives from the regional office arrived; they would start the process.
Mr David Agbogah Adaklu Constituency NDC Electoral Officer, told the GNA that 28 people are contesting for the various positions in the constituency.
He said that over 500 delegates were expected to cast their votes in the elections.
Mr Edward Klu-Ewuiah, who is contesting the other youth representative unopposed, said they considered the elections as a family affair and noted that it would end peacefully.
He hoped that after the elections they would come together to chart a common path for victory in the 2028 elections.
The elections are being held at the Adaklu Waya Evangelical Presbyterian Church Basic School.
