The Men’s Fellowship of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana has donated assorted items to the Male Surgical Ward of the Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) as part of activities marking its 30th anniversary celebration.

The donation, which took place on October 23 at the hospital, comprised toiletries and beverages to support patients on admission.

According to the Fellowship, the gesture forms part of its anniversary initiatives to extend care and show compassion to patients undergoing treatment.

The leader of the delegation, Presbyter Foster Agotse, said the group chose to support the Male Surgical Ward as a meaningful way to give back to the community and bring relief to patients.

He noted that the 30th anniversary was not only a moment for celebration within the church, but also an opportunity to impact lives beyond the church walls.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Ms. Francisca Sitsofe, Human Resource Manager of the Surgical Sub-BMC, together with the Ward In-Charge of the Male Surgical Ward, expressed appreciation to the Fellowship for the thoughtful gesture.

Ms. Sitsofe commended the church for demonstrating compassion and solidarity with patients, stressing that such acts of generosity contribute significantly to patient welfare and reinforce the importance of community participation in healthcare delivery.

She conveyed the hospital's profound gratitude to the Fellowship for choosing Ho Teaching Hospital as a beneficiary of its anniversary activities.

On the sidelines of the donation, Ms. Sitsofe used the occasion to sensitize the delegation on breast cancer, noting that October is observed at the hospital as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

She emphasized that although breast cancer is more common among women, men can also develop the disease and should not ignore possible warning signs, urging members of the public to seek early screening and medical assessment to improve treatment outcomes.
