Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has said Ghana is ready for economic take-off following what he described as progress made by the government in addressing the country’s challenges.

He said the government, led by President John Dramani Mahama, was elected to steer the country out of crisis and must remain focused on delivering on that mandate.

Dr Ato Forson made the remarks in Tamale during an engagement on the 2025 Auditor-General’s Report with Regional Ministers and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

“President Mahama and his members of Parliament were elected to save this country because Ghana was in a crisis. Let us not forget that,” he said.

The Finance Minister said the country has turned a corner and is moving in the right direction, expressing confidence in the foundation laid by the government.

He urged public officials to remain mindful of their responsibility to serve Ghanaians and ensure that public resources are managed in the interest of the people.

“Today we have turned the tide. We are moving in the right direction, and I can assure you that based on the foundation that we have laid, this country is ready to take off,” Dr Ato Forson stated.

The engagement focused on the 2025 Auditor-General’s Report, which examines issues relating to public financial management and accountability.
