The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, met with Italy’s Ambassador to Ghana, Laura Ranalli, to strengthen bilateral cooperation and attract investment into Ghana’s energy sector.
The meeting, held in Accra on Monday, focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration between Ghana and Italy, particularly through partnerships with Italian companies to mobilise investment and support the development of the country’s energy sector.
Dr Jinapor described the engagement as productive and constructive, noting that it allowed both countries to explore areas of mutual interest and deepen their existing relations.
He said closer collaboration with Italian companies could help unlock investment opportunities in Ghana’s energy sector while supporting the country’s development priorities.
The proposed partnerships are expected to create avenues for stronger business relations between Ghana and Italy, while aligning investment initiatives with Ghana’s energy needs and broader green transition objectives.
Dr Jinapor expressed optimism about the prospects for enhanced bilateral relations, emphasising the importance of building a stronger strategic partnership to advance Ghana’s energy objectives and promote sustainable economic growth.
The engagement forms part of efforts to strengthen international partnerships and explore investment opportunities that could contribute to the development of Ghana’s energy sector.
