A large crowd has reportedly gathered at the scene of a fuel tanker accident on the Kumasi Highway in the Ashanti Region, with some individuals seen attempting to collect spilt petrol from the tanker.
Videos circulating on social media show several people rushing towards the accident scene, carrying head pans, buckets and other containers to scoop the fuel.
The incident has raised serious safety concerns, as fuel spills from tanker accidents can create a highly flammable environment and potentially lead to fires or explosions.
The circumstances that led to the tanker accident, including the condition of the driver and whether any other vehicles were involved, are yet to be fully established.
