Delegates at the national conference of the NPP in Kumasi, have approved all the 14 motions filed to amend the party's constitution.
Among them are the motion mandating the flag-bearer to assume the leadership of the party when the party wins an election and he, becoming the President of Ghana.
The delegates also approved the motion to reinstate the President as a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC), when the party is in government.
Additionally, the delegates approved proposals to allow candidates to contest specific Vice Chairperson positions instead of the current situation where Vice Chairpersons are selected from candidates who received higher votes in the elections.
The delegates also voted for the appointment of an Information Communications Director to be part of the NEC, while similar positions are to be appointed at the regional and constituency levels of the party.
Mr Frank Davies, Chairman of the Constitutional and legal Affairs Committee of the party, who read the motions, thanked the delegates for accepting and approving the amendments.
