The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested three individuals for allegedly operating drones over the agency's headquarters without authorisation.
The arrests were made on Thursday, October 1, as the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, appeared at the EOCO office for questioning.
The three suspects, comprising two men and a woman, were reportedly arrested after drones were flown over the agency's premises for several minutes while the MP was there.
Nana Baffour Awuah appeared before EOCO voluntarily and was accompanied by his lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea.
His appearance followed an arrest warrant issued by the Accra High Court on Wednesday, September 30, after EOCO indicated that previous efforts to secure his attendance had been unsuccessful.
The warrant relates to an ongoing investigation into alleged unauthorised financial transactions involving SIC Life Savings & Loans Company Limited.
EOCO is investigating allegations involving possible financial losses, dissipation of public funds and money laundering.
The allegations have not been established in court and remain under investigation.
