What Is Written Is Written

it is timeit is time

Spiritual, karmic contracts and covenants cannot simply be broken by prayer and fasting.

Prayer and fasting are good. Prayer, in the religious sense, is communication with the Divine. It is an expression of faith, surrender, intention, petition and spiritual connection, and it is recognized across religious traditions. But prayer also has its limitations when it is treated as a substitute for confronting the deeper realities governing a person's life.

There are agreements that, according to spiritual understanding, were made before a person was born. These agreements are often described as karmic covenants, spiritual contracts or karmic contracts. Such agreements are believed to exist within a spiritual order witnessed by heaven and earth, by light and darkness. Just as heaven and the angels are believed to observe such agreements, spiritual traditions also speak of demonic forces observing and enforcing agreements made with them.

The Bible itself contains the language of binding and loosing:

“Whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

— Matthew 16:19; Matthew 18:18
But this Scripture should not automatically be reduced to the popular religious practice of declaring that one has “bound the devil.” The passage itself does not simply say that a person can verbally bind Satan whenever they choose. The language of binding and loosing occurs within specific contexts concerning spiritual authority, the kingdom and the community of believers.

So ask yourself a simple question:
Has your pastor ever actually bound the devil?

And if the answer is yes, ask another question:

Then why does the devil continue to operate as though nothing happened?

The fact is that, no one can bind the devil.

The point is not to mock prayer. The point is to question whether religious language has sometimes been used to create an illusion of spiritual victory without confronting the deeper agreement, behaviour, attachment, pattern or condition that continues to produce the same outcome.

When the Agreement Is Made With Darkness

The most dangerous form of such a contract, within this spiritual understanding, is one made with a demonic authority.

From the moment such an agreement is established, the belief is that the particular spiritual authority associated with it, together with other spiritual forces, begins to operate within the terms of that agreement.

Religion has often taught people that prayer, fasting, rituals, blood sacrifices, anointing oils, holy water, powders, drinks and other religious objects can immediately wipe away such agreements.

So a person visits the shrine.
Then the person visits a mallam.
Someone tells the person to bring a sheep, a cow, a fowl or another sacrifice.

Then the person visits a church.
The church leader tells the person to fast for seven days, fourteen days or twenty-one days. Sometimes the person is instructed to combine this with repeated all-night services.

But there is a problem.
If the person never investigates the agreement itself, the pattern it produced, the behavior sustaining it, the people benefiting from it, and the person's own participation in the cycle, then religious activity can become another repetition of the same pattern, or waste of time.

The person may pray.
The person may fast.
The person may attend all-night services.

The person may buy anointing oil.
The person may drink blessed water.
The person may step on Satan.
The person may shout against demons.
And yet, after everything is finished, the same problem returns.

Why?
Because the activity may have addressed the manifestation without addressing the entry point.

Prayer and Fasting Have a Purpose

Jesus did speak about prayer and fasting in relation to spiritual opposition.

Matthew 17:20–21 records Jesus speaking about faith and a particular situation involving an unclean spirit. The KJV includes:

“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”

Mark 9:29 likewise states:
“This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”

The passage therefore should not simply be dismissed. Jesus clearly connected prayer—and in the textual tradition represented by the KJV, fasting—with confronting a particular spiritual condition.

But the question is:
What exactly was Jesus talking about?

He was not teaching that every generational pattern, every family problem, every karmic contract, every financial difficulty or every recurring misfortune is automatically broken by a particular number of days of fasting.

The passage concerns a specific encounter with an unclean spirit.

Therefore, using the Scripture as a universal formula—“fast for seven days and every spiritual contract will disappear”—goes beyond what the passage actually says.

Prayer and fasting can strengthen the individual spiritually. They can deepen discipline, awareness, surrender and faith. They can prepare the person to confront what must be confronted.

But prayer and fasting should not become an excuse for refusing to do the work.

Jesus Prayed, Yet He Still Walked Through the Cup

Look at Jesus himself.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed:

“Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.”

— Luke 22:42
He continued praying in deep anguish, and the account describes an angel strengthening him.

Jesus did not pray once and walk away from the situation.

He prayed.
He returned.
He prayed again.
He faced the reality before him.
And ultimately, the prayer did not remove the cup.

It strengthened him to face it.
This is an important distinction.
Sometimes prayer does not remove the road.

Prayer gives you the strength to walk the road.

Jesus knew what was coming. Betrayal was coming. Humiliation was coming. Pain was coming. Crucifixion was coming.

He prayed that the cup might be removed.

Yet he surrendered:
“Not my will, but thine, be done.”

This is why spiritual agreements and divine purposes must not be confused with religious formulas.

Jesus did not use prayer as a mechanism for escaping every difficult thing written into his path.

He submitted to the divine purpose.
He went through it.
And according to the Christian account, death was not the end.

He rose again.
Therefore:
.
What has been established must be understood.

What has been created must be confronted.

What has been inherited must be examined.

What has been repeated must be recognized.

And what has been sustained through one's own behavior must be changed.

Prayer alone cannot substitute for that work.

So How Does One Overcome These Contracts and Begin Again?

The first step is recognition.
You must begin by recognizing the patterns.

Ask yourself:
What repeated cycles can you honestly recognize in your life?

What keeps happening?
What keeps returning?
What repeatedly happens among your cousins, siblings, parents, grandparents and other members of your family?

What relationships repeatedly collapse?
What forms of addiction repeatedly appear?

What financial difficulties repeatedly return?

What forms of betrayal repeatedly occur?

What kinds of conflict keep appearing?
What seems to move from one generation to another?

Then ask:
How does the pattern happen?
What initiates it?
What maintains it?
Who participates in it?
Who benefits from it?
Who suffers from it?
What psychological, relational, behavioral or spiritual effects does it produce?

Does it produce happiness?
Or does it produce anxiety, fear, poverty, stagnation, addiction, broken relationships, humiliation or repeated loss?

Who are the principal beneficiaries?

This question is particularly important.

Every system of suffering deserves examination.

Who benefits when the suffering continues?

Who receives power?
Who receives money?
Who receives control?
Who receives attention?
Who remains protected?
Who remains unquestioned?
And who carries the burden?
Sometimes the person carrying the pain is not the person who created the condition.

When did it begin?
When did the pattern first appear?
Who was involved?
What happened at the beginning?
Was there a death?
A betrayal?
A marriage?
A separation?
A financial transaction?
A spiritual agreement?
A family conflict?
A religious event?
An inheritance?
A secret?
A sacrifice?
A promise?
A vow?
A curse?
A covenant?
Or something that the family itself has never properly discussed?

What is the family's narrative?

Every family has stories.
But the story told by one member may not be the story experienced by another.

One person may say:
“That is just how our family is.”

Another may say:
“That family member destroyed everything.”

Another may say:
“It was God's will.”
Another may say:
“It was a curse.”
Another may say:
“It was a spiritual contract.”

Another may say:
“It was simply the consequence of our choices.”

You must examine all of these interpretations.

Do not automatically accept the first narrative.

Prayer for Revelation
This is where prayer becomes important.
Prayer should not merely be:
“God, remove my problem.”

Prayer should also become:
“God, reveal what I need to understand.”

Reveal the hidden agreement, if there is one.

Reveal the pattern.
Reveal the origin.
Reveal the people involved.
Reveal how it entered the family.
Reveal how it has affected my life.
Reveal how it has affected others.
Reveal whether there are beneficiaries of the suffering.

Reveal what I have participated in knowingly or unknowingly.

Reveal what I must change.
Reveal what I must leave.
Reveal what I must confront.
Reveal what I must forgive.
Reveal what I must repair.
And reveal what I must become.
The purpose of prayer is therefore not merely to demand that heaven change everything around you.

Sometimes prayer is asking heaven to change you enough to recognize what you could not previously see.

Jesus said that the Spirit of truth would guide his followers into truth. — John 16:13.

That guidance requires openness.
Fasting Is Preparation
Fasting also has a place here.
But fasting should not become self-destruction.

Fasting is not a competition over who can go without food for the longest period.

Nor does God need you to destroy your health before he hears you.

Fasting can be a discipline that helps a person become more focused, reflective and spiritually grounded.

It can help create the internal space necessary to begin the journey.

But excessive fasting and repeated all-night services that deprive a person of adequate rest can create other physical problems.

The purpose of spiritual discipline should not be to destroy the body while claiming to save the soul.

You need strength for the journey.
Working on Yourself
Get Working on Ourselves — The Pathway to Ascension Religion Refused to Teach You.

This book gives you another way to examine the code.

The journey of working on yourself is not easy.

It is not for the weak.
There may come a point when you begin to deviate completely from the person you once believed yourself to be.

What you thought was normal may no longer be acceptable.

What you once tolerated may become intolerable.

What you once called pleasure may begin to look like bondage.

What you once called friendship may reveal itself as attachment.

What you once called spirituality may reveal itself as dependency.

What you once called faith may reveal itself as fear.

This is where the real work begins.
Get rid of immorality.
Sin cannot remain your lifestyle while you claim to be seeking freedom from spiritual bondage.

Deal with addictions.
All forms of destructive addiction and unhealthy attachment must be confronted.

You cannot continuously feed the very thing you are praying to be delivered from.

Become aligned with the Divine.
This requires more than attending religious meetings.

It requires transformation.
It requires truth.
It requires discipline.
It requires responsibility.
It requires obedience to what you understand to be right.

It requires the courage to leave what is destroying you.

And sometimes it requires walking alone for a period while you learn who you are without the structures that previously defined you.

There Is a Price
There can be a price attached to transformation.

You may experience stagnation.
You may experience lack.
You may experience poverty.
You may experience relational misunderstandings.

People may not understand the changes taking place within you.

People who benefited from the old version of you may resist the new one.

Some relationships may disappear.
Some opportunities may close.
Some environments may no longer fit.
But you must continue.
Not because suffering itself is proof that you are spiritually correct.

But because genuine transformation requires that you stop returning to the very behaviors, attachments and environments that maintained the old pattern.

The price is the work.
The discipline.
The honesty.
The sacrifice.
The willingness to confront yourself.
The willingness to let go.
The willingness to become different.
And in spiritual language, you may understand this process as paying the energetic or spiritual price necessary to close an old cycle.

You continue until you reach the confirmation from the Holy Spirit and within your spirit that the debt, obligation, attachment or cycle has been resolved.

Prayer Does Not Replace Transformation

This is where many people become trapped.

They pray.
They fast.
They attend church.
They attend all-night services.
They buy anointing oils.
They drink anointed water.
They receive prophetic declarations.
They bind Satan.
They cast out demons.
They shout.
They cry.
They give offerings.
They pay tithes.
And then they return to the same life.
The same addiction.
The same relationship.
The same immoral behavior.
The same manipulation.
The same hatred.
The same fear.
The same attachment.
The same environment.
Then they wonder why nothing has changed.

Perhaps the question should be:
What have you actually changed?
Prayer cannot become a substitute for transformation.

Fasting cannot become a substitute for responsibility.

Church attendance cannot become a substitute for spiritual development.

Giving money cannot become a substitute for obedience.

Anointing oil cannot become a substitute for changing your life.

Religious performance cannot substitute for inner transformation.

The Religious Industry Can Exploit Ignorance

This is where caution becomes necessary.

Some religious leaders know that if people become spiritually independent, critically conscious and directly connected to God, their dependency upon the institution may decrease.

If you believe that you need a particular pastor before God can hear you, you remain dependent.

If you believe that you need a particular prophet before you can know God's will, you remain dependent.

If you believe that you must continually pay someone before your spiritual problem can be solved, you remain dependent.

If you believe that every problem requires another prophetic consultation, another oil, another water, another special service or another financial contribution, you remain dependent.

And dependency can become an industry.
This does not mean every pastor is corrupt.

It does not mean every church is fraudulent.

It does not mean every offering is exploitation.

It means that spiritual authority must never be allowed to become immune from examination.

Jesus said:
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

— Matthew 16:24.
The instruction to take up the cross is not directed only at ordinary church members.

It applies to everyone who claims to follow Christ.

The pastor.
The prophet.
The bishop.
The evangelist.
The archbishop.
The apostle.
The spiritual father.
The religious teacher.
Everyone.
No spiritual title exempts a person from the cross.

Many Are Stomach-Directed
Some people use the gospel for the wrong reasons.

They use the vulnerability of people to create dependency.

They use fear to generate attendance.
They use prophecy to create control.
They use spiritual uncertainty to generate income.

They use people's desperation to sell solutions.

They turn people's suffering into a source of financial survival.

The Bible itself contains a severe warning concerning shepherds who destroy God's vineyard:

“Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.”

— Jeremiah 12:10.
Therefore, be wise.
Do not surrender your intelligence because someone carries a religious title.

Do not surrender your conscience because someone says, “God told me.”

Do not surrender your finances because someone says your blessing depends upon your payment.

Do not surrender your identity because someone calls themselves your spiritual father.

And do not surrender your relationship with God to another human being.

You Do Not Need to Exhaust Yourself to Be Heard by God

When you become rebirthed, spiritually awakened and increasingly aligned with God, prayer takes on another meaning.

You do not need to spend every night at an altar simply to convince God that you have a need.

You do not need to starve yourself for twenty-one days before God discovers your problem.

You do not need to scream until your voice disappears before God hears you.

You do not need to purchase anointing oil before God can act.

You do not need a religious intermediary to make God aware of your existence.

Jesus taught:
“For your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”

— Matthew 6:8.
Prayer therefore becomes communication, relationship, surrender and alignment—not merely an attempt to manipulate spiritual circumstances.

Why Does Scripture Sometimes Seem Not to Work?

This is another difficult question.
Why can a person quote Scripture repeatedly and yet remain unchanged?

Why can someone attend church for years and remain trapped in the same condition?

Why can someone pray against an addiction while continuing to feed it?

Why can someone shout against darkness while continuing to live in spiritual environments that keep producing the condition?

The answer, within this spiritual framework, is that words alone do not transform a person who refuses transformation.

Scripture must move from the mouth into the life.

Faith must become conduct.
Prayer must become obedience.
Revelation must become action.
Repentance must become change.
Spiritual awakening must become responsibility.

The Holy Spirit is described as the Spirit of truth who guides people into truth.

Therefore, do not merely ask for another prophecy.

Ask for truth.
Do not merely ask for another miracle.
Ask for understanding.
Do not merely ask for another deliverance service.

Ask what must change.
Do not merely ask God to remove the consequences.

Ask God to reveal the cause.
The New Beginning
The purpose of recognizing a spiritual contract, karmic pattern, family cycle or inherited agreement is not to live in fear of it.

It is to understand it.
You cannot change what you refuse to see.

You cannot close a door whose existence you refuse to acknowledge.

You cannot end a cycle while continuously reproducing it.

You cannot claim freedom while remaining emotionally, morally, psychologically or spiritually attached to the same thing that keeps you bound.

This is why the journey must eventually move beyond prayer.

It must enter your behaviour. relationships. choices. finances. sexuality. addictions. speech. thinking. integrity.

It must enter the way you treat other people.

It must enter the way you treat yourself.

And eventually, it must enter your relationship with God.

That is where the real work begins.
Innocence is not an excuse.
Ignorance can lead to destruction.

Prayer is powerful, but prayer without transformation can become repetition.

Fasting can strengthen you, but fasting without understanding can become exhaustion.

Work on yourself.
