Nikyema Billa Alamzy renovates, hands over Katiu Primary School to GES

Katiu Primary School in the Chiana-Paga Constituency has officially been handed over to the Ghana Education Service (GES) following the completion of renovation works aimed at improving the learning environment for pupils.

The school is one of three educational facilities in the constituency renovated through the initiative of the Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, Hon. Nikyema Billa Alamzy. The other beneficiary schools are Tedam JHS “A” and Kandiga Primary School.

At the handover ceremony, the District Engineer commended the MP for the intervention and urged the community to take good care of the renovated facility to ensure that it stands the test of time.

Receiving the facility on behalf of the District Director of Education, Mr. Dickson B. Adiali Ayagitam expressed appreciation to the MP for the intervention, noting that the renovation had significantly improved the learning environment for pupils.

He also commended the District Engineer for his supervision of the project and appealed to teachers and community members to protect and maintain the facility.

Representing the MP, his aide, Hakim Nurudeen, expressed appreciation to the contractor for the work done and urged the community to take ownership of the renovated school and protect it for the benefit of present and future pupils.

The Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Nelson Anezim, on behalf of the community, thanked the MP for responding to the needs of residents by renovating the previously dilapidated school structure.

He said the intervention had provided pupils with a safer and improved environment in which to learn.
