Madina MP receives medical attention after GIMPA collapse

Dr Francis-Xavier Sosu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina, is doing well after receiving medical attention following an incident at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

The Madina MP was delivering a speech at GIMPA on Thursday on his personal experiences, leadership and commitment to public service when he appeared to lose consciousness on stage.

The Office of the Madina MP, in a statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Mr Ivan Dzakpasu, said Dr Sosu had received the necessary medical attention.

It said the Office had taken note of reports, videos and other content circulating on social media concerning the incident.

The statement assured constituents, supporters, well-wishers and the public that Dr Sosu was doing well.

It expressed appreciation to the public for their concern, goodwill, prayers and messages of support following the incident.

The Office urged the public to remain calm and avoid relying on unverified reports or speculation circulating on social media.

It said further information would be communicated through the MP's official channels when necessary.

Dr Sosu, a lawyer and human rights advocate, represents the Madina Constituency in Parliament.

The statement did not provide further details about the nature of the incident or the medical attention received.
