GJA Bono Region expresses gratitude for successful 4th Regional Awards

The Bono Regional Branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) expresses its profound appreciation to individuals, institutions, sponsors, partners and well-wishers whose invaluable support contributed to the successful organisation of the 4th Bono Regional GJA Awards.

The awards ceremony, held at the Sweet Touch Hotel in Sunyani, brought together journalists, media practitioners, government officials, traditional leaders, representatives of corporate institutions and other stakeholders to celebrate excellence in journalism and recognise the outstanding contributions of journalists in the Bono Region.

In a press release signed by Regina Benneh Siaw, the Bono Regional Chairperson of the Association, the GJA said it was particularly grateful to the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Special Guest of Honour, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, for gracing the occasion and delivering an insightful speech.

“His generous donation of GH¢86,000 towards the activities of the Association is deeply appreciated and will contribute significantly to its work,” it stated.

The Association also extended its sincere gratitude to the Minister of Works and Housing and Member of Parliament for Banda, Ahmed Ibrahim, for honouring the invitation, sharing encouraging words with members of the inky fraternity and demonstrating his commitment to supporting the Association in its quest for a permanent office space in Sunyani.

“The Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboah, is equally appreciated for his presence, inspiring address and pledge to assist the Association in securing befitting office accommodation,” the release added.

The Bono GJA is also grateful to the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Vincent Antwi Adjei; the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei and the Public Relations Officer of the Bui Power Authority, Charles Akowuah, for taking time off their busy schedules to grace the occasion.

“Special appreciation goes to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako, Guest Speaker for the occasion, for his thought-provoking and insightful speech, and to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Sunyani Technical University (STU), Ing. Prof. Julius Ceaser Puoza, for successfully chairing the ceremony.”

“The Association is also grateful to Sweet Touch Hotel for providing its conference hall free of charge for the programme. Profound appreciation goes to Newmont Ahafo South Mine, Newmont Ahafo Development Foundation (NADeF), Nsoatreman Community Bank, ActionAid Ghana, Mandela Restaurant and all other sponsors who supported the event in cash and in kind.”

The release further acknowledged the representatives of Asempa Chambers, DOVVSU, Zoomlion Ghana, Ericose Enterprise, Banhart Hospital, GLOMeF and numerous other institutions for their presence and valuable support.
