David Adadevoh appointed new Editor of Ghanaian Times

David Adadevoh has been appointed Editor of the Ghanaian Times, taking effect today, after nearly two decades of service in journalism and newsroom management.

His appointment caps a career at the New Times Corporation that has seen him work in several key editorial roles, gaining extensive experience in news reporting, business journalism, political coverage, editorial planning and newsroom administration.

Mr Adadevoh joined the New Times Corporation in 2007 as a reporter and steadily advanced through the editorial structure. He subsequently served as Senior Reporter, Chief Reporter, Business Editor and Deputy Editor.

In February 2026, he was appointed Acting Editor of the Ghanaian Times, assuming responsibility for the day-to-day management of the newsroom and providing editorial and strategic direction for the newspaper.

As Acting Editor, he supervised editorial operations, coordinated the various desks, guided the newspaper’s news agenda and took responsibility for major editorial decisions, including stories, headlines and page layouts.

He also represented the Ghanaian Times at major national engagements, while advising management on editorial matters and ensuring that the newspaper’s content was produced in accordance with professional and ethical standards.

Mr Adadevoh has undertaken several local and international programmes aimed at strengthening his expertise in journalism and communications.

In 2007, he received specialised training in financial and economic journalism at the International Institute of Journalism in Germany and subsequently undertook e-learning training in financial and economic reporting.

In 2010, he participated in the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.

He was also selected that year by the US government for the International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP), a professional exchange programme designed to expose emerging leaders to institutions and professional practices in the United States.

In 2013, he was adjudged runner-up for the Young Promising Journalist of the Year award by the Ghana Journalists Association.

Academically, Mr Adadevoh holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Affairs from the University of Ghana, a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, and a Diploma in Communications Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

He is a former student of Keta Senior High School.

Mr Adadevoh is a member of the Ghana Journalists Association and the US Ghana Alumni Association.

His professional journey at the New Times Corporation has spanned reporting, business and economic journalism, political coverage, editorial coordination and senior newsroom management.

His elevation to Editor of the Ghanaian Times therefore comes after extensive experience across virtually all major areas of the newspaper’s editorial operations.

With his background in journalism, public affairs, marketing and communications, Mr Adadevoh takes charge of the newspaper after nearly 20 years of service, bringing with him extensive institutional knowledge and experience in editorial leadership.
