Journalist and law student Ayamba Ali Dauda joins NDC Upper East Deputy Secretary race

Former teacher and journalist, Ayamba Ali Dauda, has entered the race for Deputy Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming Upper East Regional elections.

Ali Dauda, who is currently pursuing legal education at the Ghana School of Law, says he is seeking the position to use his experience in education, journalism, law and grassroots political engagement to strengthen the party's structures in the region.

He previously worked as a teacher with the Ghana Education Service in Bawku before moving into journalism and later pursuing legal education.

He has also worked with the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central and successive NDC constituency executives in the area.

In a statement declaring his intention, Dauda noted that his work with the MP and constituency executives has given him practical knowledge of the party's structures and the challenges involved in political organisation at the constituency and regional levels.

“My message is simple: I want to bring my knowledge and experience to the party level and use them to support the growth and effectiveness of the NDC,” he wrote.

Ali Dauda also says his continued engagement with young people and community members in Bawku has helped him remain connected to grassroots concerns, particularly the aspirations and expectations of the youth.

He believes his journalism background has strengthened his communication, research, analytical and public engagement skills, while his legal education is providing him with additional knowledge in constitutional, legal and administrative matters.

If elected, Ali Dauda says he will focus on improving communication within the party, strengthening coordination between regional and constituency structures, promoting organisational efficiency and deepening grassroots engagement.

He says his ambition is not simply to occupy the position but to contribute to the effectiveness of the NDC's structures across the Upper East Region.
