Inspired by: “The memory of the righteous is blessed.” – Proverbs 10:7
“Your legacy is not what you leave for people. It is what you leave IN people.. One article, one soul, one brick at a time.” – Abundant Robert K. AWOLUGUTU
In Manyoro, when an old man dies, they don’t count his cows. They recount his life. What lessons can we glean? What wisdom did he share? What values did he pass on? They talk about impact.
What will people say about me when I’m gone? I want to be remembered by my books and articles. They are my gifts to the world.
I have 200+ articles. They are more than articles. They are seeds planted in people.
THE LIE EXPOSED: We Chase Fame, Not Legacy
Social media entices us to trend for a day. Legacy calls us to transform for a lifetime.
Fame is people knowing your name. Legacy is people living your lessons. If people become writers because my writings inspired them, that is my legacy. Adolf Hitler became famous, but for the wrong reasons. No man worth his salt would want to model cruelty.
3 PILLARS OF A WRITING LEGACY
Your Pen Must Outlive Your Pain
Every success has a price. No gain without pain.
Every article demands a sacrifice: data bundles, sleepless nights, discipline, and commitment. In my articles and books, I pour out my memories, wisdom, knowledge, and experiences. These words will teach people how to live better. They will heal broken lives and give others a new lease on life. Your pain is not waste.
Your Pen Must Outlive Your Presence {The Library Outlives The Library Builder}.
We are walking here, but we want to leave a legacy that outlasts life. A boy in Bolgatanga in 2045 will Google “Abundant Robert K. AWOLUGUTU” and find Rome. My pen will still be preaching. My sermons will teach honesty and integrity when my voice is silent.
Your Pen Must Outlive Your Pocket {Influence is Richer than Money}.
It is better to build an empire of influence than an empire of cedis. Money finishes. But one sermon can save a life. It can heal a broken heart. It can save a marriage 30 years from now.
HOW TO START YOUR LEGACY TODAY
- Write As If It Is Your Funeral Tribute. What would you want them to read about you?
- Write One Truth That Will Inspire Generations. Not just today, but tomorrow’s child.
- Protect Your Legacy Site. What you write is your portrait. Don’t write what you will regret. Write what people can model and embrace.
CONCLUSION
From Manyoro to the world, I started with one article in a trashcan. Now readers call me Sir, Prophet, Philosopher, Daddy. I wear these hats with dignity and honour. That is legacy in the making.
Final Charge: Don’t just build Rome. Build a Rome that will house others when you are gone.
Final Question
If your pen stopped today, what would remain IN people?
