New Patriotic Party (NPP) First Vice Chairman aspirant Sam Pyne has accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of failing to deliver on its Agenda 1-3-3 promise under the 24-hour economy policy.
Agenda 1-3-3 refers to the government's promise of one job, involving three people working three shifts, as part of efforts to keep economic activity running around the clock.
Mr Pyne said the government must show how many jobs have been created through the policy since taking office, particularly for young people who were attracted to the NDC's promise during the 2024 election campaign.
“Let them give us the number of people who have been employed, not political appointees. Not political appointees. Let them come and tell us on the Agenda 1-3-3,” he said.
Speaking on Citi FM's Eyewitness News on Friday, September 11, 2026, he questioned whether the 24-hour economy was operating as promised.
“The 24-hour economy, yeah. Where, how many people are working because of that? And these are issues that the young guys bought into,” he said.
“Is it functioning? Where’s that promise?” he asked.
Mr Pyne said the policy was expected to create additional employment by allowing businesses and workers to operate in shifts.
He challenged the government to provide evidence of the policy's impact rather than relying on political messaging.
He said voters were closely monitoring the government's performance and would judge it based on whether its promises translated into tangible improvements in their lives.
