The Member of Parliament for Effiduase Asokore, Dr Nana Ayew Afriye, has threatened to sue Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah over alleged defamatory comments.
This follows a video circulating online in which Rev. Owusu Bempah claimed that some bigwigs of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including Dr Afriye, had incited some Muslim youth to attack his church.
In the video, the man of God alleged that party leaders were mobilizing youth from the Zongo wing of the party for the attack.
Reacting to the claims, Dr Afriye described them as palpable falsehood.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, he condemned the Reverend Minister for spreading falsehood and said he will sue him for defamation of character.
He called on the public to disregard the claims, noting that no such thing occurred.
Dr Afriye emphasized the need for religious harmony, noting that both Christians and Muslims must live in peace, adding that he will never engage in any act that will disrupt the peace of Ghana.
