Eight Talensi CHPS Compounds receive BP apparatus from Cyclist James Kumbeni

Cyclist James Kumbeni has donated Blood Pressure (BP) apparatus to the Talensi District Health Directorate in the Upper East Region to support healthcare delivery and improve access to basic health monitoring services in rural communities.

The donation forms part of a partnership between Kumbeni and fellow cyclist Kingsley Akwasi Ampong, who together undertook a cycling journey from Ghana to Benin under the Climate Action and Health Awareness Campaign.

Eight Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds in the Talensi District are benefiting from the donation. They are Baare, Sakpare-Tengre, Yagzore, Tindongo, Belembisi, Biug, Gaare and Accra Site.

According to James Kumbeni, the equipment will help health workers carry out their duties more effectively while improving the regular monitoring of patients’ blood pressure at the beneficiary facilities.

He said the donation was intended to contribute to strengthening basic healthcare delivery, particularly at the community level where residents rely heavily on CHPS compounds for essential health services.

Kumbeni also disclosed plans to organise a community health screening exercise in the coming months as part of his continued efforts to promote health awareness and preventive healthcare.

He expressed his willingness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the planned screening exercise.

The cyclist commended the Talensi District Health Directorate and health workers for their dedication and commitment to providing healthcare services to residents across the district.

He further expressed appreciation to Strauss Legacy Consult for supporting the initiative, adding that he looked forward to more collaborations aimed at improving the wellbeing of communities.
