Open Letter To Hon. Alhassan S. Dandaawa On His Reckless Comments On Radio Tamale 91.7 Mhz

Hon. Alhassan S. DandaawaHon. Alhassan S. Dandaawa

Dear Hon. Alhassan S. Dandaawa,

I write this open letter with shock and utter disappointment after listening to your interview granted on Radio Tamale 91.7 MHz.

In that interview, you stated without any remorse that, "Even if the NDC presents a dog as a candidate in 2028, we'll win the Karaga seat."

This reckless statement was in response to the current Member of Parliament for Karaga, Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam Anta, regarding the perceived neglect of NDC members in appointments under the current NDC government.

With all due respect, this is not politics. This is arrogance and disrespect of the highest order to the good people of Karaga.

In fact, it is a clear and direct insult to the discerning, respectable, and hardworking people of Karaga Constituency who gave you the rare opportunity to represent them in Parliament for 8 years.

Let me ask you this, Hon. Alhassan S. Dandawa:

How can you describe the very people who queued in the scorching sun to vote for you as people who will vote for even a dog?

How can you reduce the intelligence, wisdom, and political maturity of the chiefs, elders, youth, women, and farmers of Karaga to that low level?

Why should any right-thinking person, let alone a former MP who is seeking to come back, make such derogatory remarks with such impunity against his own people?

Indeed, if you can describe your own constituents this way, then it tells us how the NDC sees the people of Karaga as a people who can be taken for granted, as a people who have no choice, as a people who will accept anything.

But Karaga Constituency deserves better. Karaga deserves respect.

The good people of Karaga, from Karaga town to all the surrounding communities, are not people who vote for anything. They are discerning people. They vote on records. They vote on competence. They vote on development. And that is why they voted massively for Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam Anta in 2020 and 2024 elections.

In all fairness and in the interest of decency, you must do the honourable thing: Retract that insulting and demeaning statement and apologize unreservedly to the constituents of Karaga.

Leadership is about humility, not arrogance. Leadership is about respect, not insults.

The people of Karaga are listening, and they will not forget this insult in 2028.

Dear Razak, its not an insult if someone asserts that. Its their work that will justify what he said. If a dog is helful in the needed development and uplift of Karaga than a human being why not?. You reek of the dreaded ELEPHANT than just a columnist.
