Muntaka storms Sakafia SHS with massive development, cautions students against drug abuse

The transformation of Sakafia Senior High School has received a major boost as the Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, commissioned a new six-unit classroom block and a six-seater W/C toilet facility for the school.

The newly completed first-floor classroom block, equipped with six classrooms, offices and stores, is expected to provide much-needed space and improve the environment for teaching and learning.

The commissioning brought together the Municipal Chief Executives for Asokore Mampong and Tafo, Hon. Ben Abdallah Alhassan and Hon. Abubakar Sadique, municipal education directors, traditional leaders, the clergy and other stakeholders.

Hon. Muntaka described the completion of the project as another significant step in the drive to improve educational infrastructure across Asawase.

He reiterated the commitment of the government of President John Dramani Mahama to expanding access to quality education and ensuring that schools receive the facilities necessary to support effective teaching and learning.

Sakafia Set for Bigger Transformation
The latest classroom block is only part of a much bigger infrastructure transformation taking place at Sakafia SHS.

The school is also benefiting from a 2,000-capacity assembly hall and a four-storey girls' dormitory, projects that are expected to substantially expand the school's capacity and improve student welfare.

The developments represent a major investment in the future of young people in the area, providing them with improved facilities to pursue their education in a more conducive environment.

But amid the celebration of the school's infrastructure transformation, Hon. Muntaka delivered a stern message that went beyond bricks and mortar.

He warned students about the growing threat of drug abuse among young people, urging them not to allow substance abuse to derail the future they are working hard to build.

The Asawase MP challenged the students to remain disciplined, focused and committed to their education, reminding them that the choices they make today can determine the direction of their lives tomorrow.

He urged them to reject negative influences and make choices that would bring honour to themselves, their families and society.

For Hon. Muntaka, building classrooms is only one part of building the future, saying the real investment is in the young people who will occupy them.

The commissioning therefore ended with a powerful combination of development, education and a call for discipline, as Sakafia SHS takes another giant step forward in its quest to provide quality education to its students.
