The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured the public that efforts are underway to restore its passport application website after it experienced technical difficulties.
The affected platform, passport.mfa.gov.gh, is temporarily unavailable, preventing some applicants from accessing the online passport application service.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, August 25, the Ministry said its technical team was working with the National Signals Bureau to resolve the problem.
“The Ministry wishes to inform its valued customers, particularly those who may be experiencing challenges accessing our website for passport applications, that passport.mfa.gov.gh is currently experiencing technical issues, and is therefore down, temporarily,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry said the technical team was working to restore the website as quickly as possible.
It did not indicate how long the disruption would last but assured users that an update would be provided once the system had been restored.
The Ministry apologised to members of the public for the inconvenience caused by the temporary outage.
“Our technical team is feverishly working with the National Signals Bureau to resolve the problem as quickly as possible,” it said.
