The Ministry of Defence has formally welcomed Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei as the newly appointed Minister for Defence following his assumption of duty as the substantive minister responsible for the ministry.
A Guard of Honour was mounted at the Ministry to officially receive the new Defence Minister as he began his tenure.
After the ceremonial welcome, Hon. Adjei exchanged pleasantries with management and staff of the Ministry, including Chief Director Emmanuel Kartey, Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, and the various Service Chiefs.
The occasion also provided the minister with an opportunity to formally interact with senior officials and staff as he commenced his responsibilities at the Ministry.
The Ministry said the warm reception reflected its commitment to working collaboratively with the new minister as he takes on the task of leading the sector and supporting the discharge of the Ministry’s mandate.
Hon. Adjei is expected to work closely with the Ministry’s management, the Ghana Armed Forces and other stakeholders as he settles into his new role.
