Ghana: Lawless country!?

To describe a country as a " lawless country "is not an insult but an indication that law enforcement is not working and the nation has fewer laws than needed, especially the right ones for a greater future.

The 1992 Constitution recommendations to change and improve the country and bring it on track for glorious progress in all its forms and points run short of being credible in a substantial way. It is like painting the old, cracking building in pink instead of the old, used brown colour. Reading the words and behind their meaning, time will be wasted again for Ghanaians to live a better life, a life they truly deserve. The published suggestions help political parties to survive for more decades, seeing the majority of Ghanaians suffer as usual.

Decisions must be taken fast and at a low level. While the state sets the framework in which effectiveness can operate. When parties in power change, decided projects get abandoned, leaving hospitals, cars, markets, schools, housing and many more projects left to rot in the jungle of Ghana.

The nation Ghana has „less law“ of projects stuck in concrete. Each project in all its aspects, finances, logistics, manpower, power and water, system processes, etc. must be signed by responsible personnel in by-laws. The full funding must be held in a special assigned bank account plus the expected increase due to inflation over the expected construction period. Regardless of which party is in power, the project initiated by local authorities and overseen by them will eventually get finished as determined in a by-law. By signing off on the project papers, the signatories submit themselves to any legal punishment, with potential imprisonment and reduced or scrapped pension rights. The pressure on the lowest level is on. Projects can get completed and most of the current problems of uncompleted projects solved.

Ghana needs more, not fewer, laws and the right ones.
