P-Square Feud Deepens as Elder Brother Henry Okoye Accuses Jude of Fuelling Family Division

The family feud involving Nigerian music duo P-Square has taken another turn after their elder brother, Henry Okoye, publicly accused their former manager and brother, Jude Okoye, of contributing to the family's divisions the latest twist in a saga that has drawn in Nigeria's anti-graft agency and the courts.

Henry's Allegations
Speaking in an interview with Nollyserve, shared on YouTube on Friday, August 7, 2026, Henry Okoye said he, not Jude, was P-Square's first sponsor, describing how he financed and supported twins Peter and Paul before they became famous. He said he drove the duo from state to state for auditions, talent shows and tours in his own car, and personally printed and distributed promotional flyers, before Jude became involved as their manager once their music career began taking off.

Henry alleged that their late mother had opposed Jude managing the group from the outset, reportedly describing him as a person of concerning character. He also claimed he was promised a 20 percent share of proceeds from each P-Square show in recognition of his early support, but said he never received the payment, and alleged that Jude later questioned the basis of that arrangement and moved to push him and other family members away from the group.

He named their brother Tony Okoye, said to have worked as one of P-Square's dancers, as another sibling he claimed was similarly sidelined. Henry said he has not spoken to Jude for nearly two years, alleging that Jude did not call to check on him during a two-month hospital admission, while Peter and Paul did. He further alleged that their youngest sister was struggling in Lagos without adequate family support, and said he had noticed a marked change in Paul's personality that he attributed, without certainty, to Jude's influence.

Despite the allegations, Henry said he has forgiven his siblings and expressed hope for reconciliation, though he voiced doubt that Peter and Paul would ever fully reunite. Jude Okoye's wife, Ify Okoye, responded to the allegations with a message of support for her husband on social media, without directly addressing the specific claims.

Background to the Split
P-Square, made up of twins Peter and Paul Okoye, split in 2017, reunited in 2021, and separated again in 2024 amid renewed disputes over finances and management. The dispute escalated further in recent days after Peter released a multi-part video series accusing Jude of financial misappropriation, alleging the diversion of more than $1.2 million in royalties, and of issuing threats allegations Jude has firmly denied, describing them as "blatant lies" intended to manipulate public opinion.

Peter has separately alleged that a fresh lawsuit filed by Jude, with Paul's backing, seeks to bar him from performing P-Square songs, and has claimed EFCC investigators traced funds to two properties registered in Jude and Paul's names, which he says were subsequently sealed. Ghana feed could not independently verify Peter's claims regarding the properties.

The EFCC Investigation and Court Case
The wider dispute has led to an investigation by Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and an ongoing prosecution. Jude Okoye and his company, Northside Music Limited, are standing trial before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja on four counts related to the alleged stealing and conversion of $1,019,763.87 and £34,537.59 in royalties from music digital distribution and publishing. Separate reporting has cited an EFCC petition alleging money laundering of over ₦1.38 billion. Jude has pleaded not guilty and maintains that the financial questions Peter has raised publicly were already examined during the EFCC investigation and remain before the court, arguing the matter should be resolved by judges rather than on social media.

During cross-examination in the trial, defence counsel Clement Onwuenwunor (SAN) pointed to inconsistencies in Peter's testimony to the EFCC, including direct bank transfers from Jude to Peter that the defence said contradicted Peter's sworn statement that he never personally benefited financially from the company.

Lawyer Inibehe Effiong, who represented Jude in the early stages of his legal defence and secured his bail before the Federal High Court in September 2024, has publicly criticized Peter's decision to air the dispute online rather than allow the courts to resolve it.

The case remains before the courts, with the Okoye family's public rift showing no clear sign of resolution.
