THEY ARE WATCHING

THEY ARE WATCHING

Most of the time, we live as if nobody cares, as if we are living on an island where nobody else is watching. However, it is amazing how many people are interested in what happens to us and around us more than we can ever imagine. The reality of life is that there will always be a time where everything we do, good or bad, will play back to us. I hope it really meets us prepared.

It was a Saturday morning when I had to cover a distance that should ordinarily taken about 20 minutes in less than 5 minutes. It was not the first time to do so. People had noticed me drive carelessly on several occasions and yet watched me in silence whispering to themselves, 'let's hope nothing bad happens to him'.

On that particular day, I was not fortunate. I was involved in a gory accident that had my left leg seriously wounded. Those people who had witnessed the incident and could have provided immediate support behaved as if they had seen nothing. The mothers warned their children from coming near to offer any kind of support. All hope was almost gone until I encountered a good Samaritan who rushed me to the hospital for emergency treatment. It was then I knew they were always watching.

The same can be said in our Senior High Schools and other institutions. People are watching. People are observing. They might not say anything. Possibly, they are waiting for the right time where what they have always whispered to themselves will become a reality. It therefore behooves on the leadership and Management of these institutions not to 'drive carelessly' in a way that will end them in a ditch.

It pays to listen. It pays to be careful. Had I known is always at last.
