The Binduri District Assembly on Thursday, August 6, 2026, held its Second Ordinary Meeting at the Assembly Hall, focusing on development planning and improving the security situation in the district.

The meeting brought together assembly members, DISEC, heads of departments and other stakeholders to review development priorities and assess progress following years of insecurity that disrupted socio-economic activities in the area.

Addressing the Assembly, District Chief Executive Martin Ariku Akudugu said relative calm has returned to Binduri after nearly five years of conflict. He noted that all security restrictions previously imposed on the district have been lifted, allowing normal economic and social activities to resume.

Mr. Akudugu, however, appealed to the Ghana Police Service to redeploy officers to the district after they withdrew following attacks on security personnel at the height of the conflict.

He stressed that the return of police officers is crucial to sustaining the prevailing peace, strengthening law enforcement and restoring public confidence.

He expressed optimism that the improving security environment would attract investment, enhance service delivery and accelerate development across the district.
