Dr. Nana Benyin Enninful has formally launched his manifesto and rallied supporters ahead of the NPP Germany Branch elections, presenting an ambitious programme aimed at reviving weakening chapters, empowering members and repositioning the Branch as a more influential force within the New Patriotic Party.
The online event, held on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, under the theme “Honouring Our Tradition, Shaping Our Future,” brought together party leaders, senior members, professionals, supporters and well-wishers from Germany, Ghana and beyond.
The event was chaired by Mary Eileen Porsch-Oduro, Member of the NPP Council of Elders. Special guests included Hon. Justina Marigold Assan, former Central Regional Minister; Ekow Ewusi, former First Vice Chairman of the NPP in the Central Region; and Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, former Chief Executive Officer of the State Housing Company.
The manifesto launch has been described as a historic moment in the internal politics of NPP Germany. Formal manifesto launches are uncommon in external-branch executive contests, which have traditionally been dominated by personalities, alliances and informal campaign promises.
By presenting a written programme of policies and measurable commitments, Dr. Enninful sought to move the contest towards ideas, accountability and issue-based leadership.
Historic contest set for August 8
The NPP Germany Branch elections will be held on Saturday, 8 August 2026, with Dr. Enninful challenging the incumbent Branch Chairman, Dr. Felix Yamoah, for the chairmanship.
The contest is increasingly being framed as one between continuity under the incumbent and a new direction represented by Dr. Enninful.
Dr. Enninful’s candidature has generated considerable enthusiasm among his supporters, many of whom have tipped him to win the election. They point to his record of service, academic and professional accomplishments, organisational experience and detailed manifesto as evidence that he is prepared to lead the Branch.
The historic manifesto launch has further strengthened his image as a methodical and visionary candidate who wants to be assessed not merely on personality or connections, but on a clearly defined programme for members and the Branch.
A leadership bid anchored in the 5Rs
At the heart of Dr. Enninful’s manifesto is a five-point agenda known as the 5Rs: Revival, Rebranding, Repositioning, Redirection and Recognition.
Under Revival, he pledged to rebuild inactive and weakening chapters, rekindle members’ interest in Branch activities and end the practice of mobilising people primarily when internal elections approach.
A major component of this agenda is Operation 500 Active Members, through which he hopes to build a Branch whose members remain active throughout the year rather than appearing only during election periods.
He also proposed helping chapters formalise and register their operations within their respective German states. Under the proposal, the Branch would work with chapter leaders to prepare the required documentation and support the registration process.
The policy is intended to help chapters explore legitimate opportunities for programme funding, sponsorship and institutional support beyond members’ dues.
Dr. Enninful argued that the strength of the Branch must ultimately be built from its chapters.
“Strong members will build stronger chapters; stronger chapters will build a stronger Branch; and a stronger Branch will contribute to a stronger NPP capable of recapturing power in 2028,” the manifesto states.
Rewarding senior members
The manifesto also contains a policy aimed at recognising senior members who have served the Branch over many years.
Under the proposed policy, members who are 65 years and above and have served in the Branch for at least 10 years would no longer be required to pay dues.
Dr. Enninful described such members as pioneers, pacesetters, mentors and custodians of the Branch’s institutional ethos.
He said the policy would honour their contribution, encourage their continued participation and inspire younger members to emulate their dedication, sacrifice and service.
Recognition that benefits members
Under the recognition pillar, Dr. Enninful said the success of NPP Germany should not be measured only by the number of members it has or by the personal achievements of its chairman.
He proposed a simple measure of success: how many members of NPP Germany, and where possible their families, are helped to achieve their legitimate political goals and receive recognition within the wider Party.
He pledged to use his networks and relationships in Ghana for the collective benefit of members, stressing that the Branch must become “a real and not a paper tiger.”
According to him, NPP Germany should be recognised by the Party for its commitment, sacrifice and contribution, while its members should also benefit from the opportunities created by that recognition.
NPP Germany Business Council
Another major proposal is the establishment of the NPP Germany Business Council.
The Council would serve as a vehicle for incubating businesses owned or proposed by members who want to invest in Ghana. It would support members with business ideas, investment planning, networking and access to relevant institutions.
Dr. Enninful also indicated that, when the NPP returns to government, the Council would help position qualified members to benefit from legitimate investment packages and opportunities available to investors.
The proposal is intended to connect political participation with practical economic empowerment and create a structured pathway for members who want to contribute to Ghana’s development through business and investment.
Celebrating 35 years and documenting the Branch’s history
The manifesto further proposes a celebration of the 35th anniversary of NPP Germany, with emphasis on honouring the pioneers, founders, past executives and long-serving members who helped build the Branch.
As part of the anniversary, Dr. Enninful intends to initiate a project to properly document the history of the Branch.
The project would involve collecting and preserving photographs, records, documents, major milestones and the stories of past and present members.
The eventual goal would be to publish a lasting account of NPP Germany’s journey and ensure that its history does not remain only in the memories of individuals.
Calls for rebranding and repositioning
Under Rebranding, Dr. Enninful promised to improve the public image, communication and visibility of the Branch while restoring members’ confidence and pride in NPP Germany.
His Repositioning agenda seeks to make NPP Germany the external branch of choice—“enviable to all and comparable to none.”
He said the Branch must become more organised, relevant and influential, while creating greater value for its members and the wider Party.
The Redirection pillar would refocus the Branch on its core political mandate: supporting the NPP to recapture power.
Dr. Enninful said the Branch must direct its activities and collective strength towards that objective, arguing that political relevance should ultimately translate into recognition and opportunities for members.
Testimonials from party figures and well-wishers
Several speakers and well-wishers used the event to testify about Dr. Enninful’s character, competence and service to the Party.
He was repeatedly described as hard-working, visionary, intelligent, courageous, disciplined and committed.
Speakers pointed to his record of service within NPP Germany, his willingness to accept difficult responsibilities and his ability to combine political organisation with a demanding academic and professional career.
Some speakers noted that he had demonstrated the discipline required to manage people, organise political structures and pursue long-term objectives.
Others described him as a young leader with the confidence to take difficult decisions, even when doing so could come at a personal political cost.
The testimonies also highlighted his accessibility and willingness to listen, reflecting his campaign slogan, “Mo kasaa, mete”—when you speak, I listen.
Academic and professional profile
Beyond politics, Dr. Enninful has built an extensive academic and professional profile spanning Ghana, Italy and Germany.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino in Italy, and a PhD in Physics from Leipzig University in Germany.
He also holds a Certificate in Higher Education from Harvard University and a Certificate in Data Science and Business Innovation from Greenbootcamps in Hamburg, Germany.
Since 2018, he has worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Materials Science and Data Science at Leipzig University.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a Field Engineer with Schlumberger SEACO Inc. in Takoradi, Ghana, in 2014.
His supporters say his academic background, scientific training and international professional exposure have shaped his analytical approach to leadership and strengthened his capacity for planning, organisation and innovation.
Long record of service to the NPP
Dr. Enninful’s political service spans several levels of the Party.
He is a Member of the NPP Finance Committee, a position he has held since 2026.
He has served as Organizer of the NPP Germany Branch since 2022 and as Chairman of the Leipzig Chapter since 2020.
He has also been a Member of the NPP Germany Branch Communications team since 2020.
Dr. Enninful serves as Patron of NPP Europe Loyal Ladies and Patron of Alpha Patriots. He has been a Member of Professionals for Change since 2017.
From 2018 to 2022, he served as Communications Officer of the NPP Germany Branch Youth Wing.
His involvement in the Party, however, predates his time in Germany. Between 2010 and 2014, he served as Polling Station Secretary at Orion Cinema in the Okaikoi South Constituency.
His campaign team says this record demonstrates that his candidature is not based merely on ambition, but on more than a decade of service across polling-station, youth-wing, chapter, branch and national-party structures.
A new standard for internal elections
Beyond the policies unveiled, the event may have established a new standard for internal executive contests within NPP Germany.
By convening party heavyweights, senior figures, professionals and members to publicly scrutinise his programme, Dr. Enninful transformed what might otherwise have been an ordinary internal campaign event into a major policy platform.
The manifesto now provides members with a document against which his leadership can be measured should he win the election.
His supporters believe this transparency, coupled with the positive testimonies delivered during the launch, has placed him in a strong position ahead of Saturday’s vote.
A campaign focused on the future
Dr. Enninful said his campaign is ultimately about restoring confidence in the Branch and ensuring that members feel valued, represented and empowered.
His manifesto seeks to link membership mobilisation with chapter development, political recognition, economic opportunity, institutional memory and the wider goal of returning the NPP to power.
He urged members to support a leadership that would listen, organise, connect and deliver.
The broader message from the launch was clear: NPP Germany must honour the sacrifices of its past, strengthen its present structures and prepare itself for the political and organisational demands of the future.
As delegates prepare to elect their chairman on Saturday, 8 August 2026, Dr. Nana Benyin Enninful enters the contest against incumbent Dr. Felix Yamoah with growing momentum and the backing of supporters who believe he is poised to win.
For Dr. Enninful and his campaign, the task is to help NPP Germany put “our best foot forward.”
