Tema, Accra West and Accra East to experience power outages today

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works in the Tema, Accra West and Accra East operational regions on Monday, August 3, 2026, as part of measures to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply.

According to the company, the maintenance exercise in the Tema Region will be carried out from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Customers in Communities 19, 20, 22 (TDC Estates) and 24, Jordan City, Santor Timber Market, Aunty Araba, Agbeshie Laryea, Nelplast, Kubekro, Level 400 and nearby communities are expected to experience temporary power interruptions.

In the Accra West Region, electricity supply will be disrupted between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in Doblo, Bangalow, Hebron, Medie, Samsam, Satellite, Kwashieman, Lapaz Community Hospital, Nii Boye Town, Gbawe Bulemin, Gonse, Joma, Agbozome and adjoining areas.

The Accra East Region will also undergo maintenance during the same period, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting parts of East Legon, parts of Okponglo, Frafraha, Ashiyie and surrounding communities.

ECG said the planned maintenance forms part of its ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery and improve the reliability of power supply to customers.

The company apologised for the inconvenience the temporary outages may cause and advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements while the maintenance works are undertaken.
