The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced emergency and planned maintenance activities scheduled for Thursday, July 23, in parts of the Western, Ashanti and Tema regions as part of measures to enhance the reliability of power supply.
In the Western Region, emergency maintenance will be carried out between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., affecting several communities including Esiama, Axim, Abura Ahanta, GREL, Tsibu, Ayiskro, Nsien, Miamia, Adiewoso, Kikam, Asamko, Aiyinase, Awiaso, Awiabo, Atuabo, Maaha Beach, Eikwe Hospital, Nkroful, Asasetre, Kamgbline, Gwira Banso, Gwira, Eshiom, Asemkrom, Jema, Boinso, Omanpe, Kwahu, Sewum, Enchi, Nyankamam, Old and New Yakasi, Achimfo, Adjoum, Akontombra Nkwanta, Half Assini, Elubo, Benyin, Bawia, Mbem, Samanye, Mpataba, Tikobo 1 and 2, Alawule, Bonyere, Ezinlibo and neighbouring areas.
The Ashanti Region will also experience planned maintenance from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting areas such as Kronom Cement, Boussie, Asuofua, Heman, Amoaman, Adankwame, Adugyama, Nketiah, Kokote, Abira, Namong, Barekese Headworks, Akyease Booster Station, Offinso, KCG, Ahenkro, Kodie, Apagya, Aduamoah, Denase, Akom, Mowire, Amoako, Boamang and Tetrem, among others.
In the Tema Region, planned maintenance works will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting communities including Santor, Jordan City, Aunty Araba, Abgeshie Laryea, Nelplast, Kubekro, Level 400, Nungua Presby Schools, the Nungua Traditional Council and surrounding areas.
ECG apologised to customers in the affected communities for any inconvenience the exercises may cause and appealed for their patience and cooperation while the maintenance works are undertaken.
The company also advised residents within the affected areas to make the necessary alternative arrangements during the period of the scheduled activities.
