Faith-Based NGO launches NexGen Aid project to support schools in North Dayi

A faith-based non-governmental organisation based in Madina, Accra, In God Unity We Stand, has launched its educational outreach initiative, the NexGen Aid Project, in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region to improve educational outcomes and empower communities through faith, unity and service.

The outreach programme officially commenced at Aveme Amanfrom Basic School on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, with the support of the North Dayi District Education Directorate, school authorities and community leaders. The initiative will benefit six basic schools across the district.

Addressing the launch, the Founder and Chairman of the organisation, Mr Evans Donkor, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Dynamic Painting, said the project marks the beginning of a broader mission to transform lives by supporting education, healthcare, orphaned children and community development.

He disclosed that the NexGen Aid Project would distribute 5,000 exercise books, along with pens, pencils and mathematical sets, to pupils in the beneficiary schools. He also expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for supporting the initiative.

The beneficiary schools are Aveme Amanfrom Basic School, Wusuta Kpebe Tornu-Sakatsre, Awate Tornu, Tsorxor Tornu, Blada Tornu and Zanukorfe.

The Project Coordinator and Public Relations Officer of the organisation, Mr Bless E.K. Adortor, Chief Executive Officer of Blissful Electrical Services, said the initiative was inspired by the educational challenges confronting children in riverine communities within the district.

According to him, many pupils attend school without basic learning materials, prompting the organisation to intervene.

Mr Adortor commended members of the organisation—including painters, carpenters, plumbers, electricians and furniture makers—for their dedication and sacrifice in ensuring the success of the project.

He also expressed gratitude to the project's sponsors, Blissful Electrical Services and LLB Construction, as well as Kpando-based media partners Akpini Radio and Chiboy Media, for their support.

He encouraged beneficiary pupils to make good use of the learning materials and remain committed to their education.

At the launch, 117 pupils received 982 exercise books, together with other educational materials. The event was attended by officials of the North Dayi District Education Directorate, led by the District Director of Education, Mr Adjah John Yao Agbeko, as well as members of the organisation's Board of Management, including Evans Donkor, Nartey Amuyao, Enoch Adiebetsi, Kingsley Gbordzoe, Bless Adortor, Festus Yevu, William Amekudzi, Albert Ameha, Isaac Diamro, Johnson Amekorfia and Constance Chawey.

Mr Agbeko commended the organisers for their commitment to supporting education in underserved communities and described the young men and women behind the initiative as positive role models contributing meaningfully to national development.

He urged pupils to remain disciplined, respect their teachers and parents, and take their studies seriously, stressing that education remains the surest path to a brighter future.

The District Director also appealed to individuals, corporate organisations and other stakeholders to support educational development in the district, particularly in lakeside communities where many children continue to face significant learning challenges.

The Headmaster of Aveme Amanfrom Basic School, Mr Tumfuor Ernest, expressed gratitude to the organisation for what he described as a timely intervention.

He said the donation would significantly improve teaching and learning, especially for orphaned and underprivileged pupils who struggle to access basic educational materials.

According to him, the support would help reduce some of the challenges that contribute to absenteeism and school dropouts in the community, and he encouraged other benevolent organisations to emulate the gesture.
