The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the commencement of permanent Ghana Card registration for Ghanaian children aged between six and 14 years in the Volta and Oti regions.
The exercise, which takes effect from Monday, July 6, will be conducted at all NIA district offices in the two regions as part of the Authority's routine registration services.
The move follows the successful completion of an initial mass registration exercise and is expected to provide parents and guardians with continuous access to registration services for eligible children.
"Effective Monday, 6th July 2026, Ghana Card registration for Ghanaian children aged 6 to 14 years will be available at all NIA District Offices in the Volta and Oti Regions," the Authority announced in a public notice.
According to the NIA, the registration of children in the specified age group has now been fully integrated into its regular operations at district offices in both regions.
It therefore encouraged parents and guardians whose children are yet to obtain the national identity card to visit any NIA district office with the children and the required supporting documents to complete the registration process.
"Registration for eligible children aged 6 – 14 years is completely free of charge at all NIA District Offices," the statement emphasised.
