National First Vice Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kojo Bamba, has alleged that some influential figures within the party are orchestrating a campaign to undermine the chances of former running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh also known as NAPO, being considered again as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's running mate for the 2028 general elections.
Speaking in a video that has circulated widely on social media, Bamba claimed that a coordinated smear campaign was underway, alleging that some TikTok influencers and bloggers had been recruited to spread what he described as false claims that Dr. Opoku Prempeh secured the NPP's 2024 running mate position solely because of his close relationship with Kennedy Agyapong.
Bamba rejected the claim, describing it as "a deliberate lie" intended to mislead party members and erode support for Dr. Opoku Prempeh ahead of future internal decisions.
He maintained that the alleged campaign would not succeed, insisting that no amount of propaganda, blackmail or political manoeuvring would prevent Napo from being considered for the running mate position again.
The NPP executive hopeful further warned those he accused of orchestrating the campaign, claiming he had information about the individuals involved and would publicly identify them if they continued what he described as their "evil agenda."
The allegations have intensified discussions within the NPP over succession, party unity and preparations for the 2028 general elections. The claims, however, remain unsubstantiated, and no individuals were specifically named in the video.
