A newly formed political organization, The Base Ghana First, has disowned a viral social media announcement claiming it will organise a public walk on July 3, 2026, describing the information as false and urging Ghanaians to disregard it.
Addressing a press conference in Kumasi on Wednesday, the organization's leader, Malam Issah, stated categorically that the organisation has not planned any walk for the said date and will only announce official activities through its authorised communication channels.
According to him, the confusion arose after another group allegedly operating under the same name publicised plans to stage a walk on July 3.
Malam Issah maintained that the group behind the announcement is not affiliated with his organisation, insisting that his outfit is the legitimate The Base Ghana First and should not be mistaken for any other group using the same identity.
"We have not decided to organise any walk on July 3. When we are ready to embark on such an exercise, we will officially inform the public," he emphasised.
He therefore urged supporters and the general public to ignore the circulating announcement, stressing that his movement has no connection whatsoever with the proposed event.
Malam Issah further disclosed that veteran actor Agya Koo serves as the organization's official brand ambassador, adding that all activities and public engagements involving The Base Ghana First will be communicated through its recognised leadership.
The clarification, he said, is aimed at preventing public confusion and safeguarding the identity of the group as it continues to build its presence on Ghana's political landscape.
He vowed to initiate legal action against the said group if they hold the walk.
