Cabinet approves four sector policies to power Tema Integrated Industrial Park – Trade Minister 

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Madam Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has referred to the Tema Integrated Industrial Park (TIIP) as a strategic investment that will position Ghana as a leading industrial hub in West Africa.

The Minister made the remarks at the sod-cutting ceremony marking the commencement of construction works on the TIIP, held in Tema on Tuesday.

She said the project would drive value addition, promote import substitution and expand export-oriented manufacturing.

She disclosed that Cabinet has approved four key sector-specific policies to support the industrial park's development and attract investors.

These are the Ghana Textiles and Garments Manufacturing Policy, the Ghana Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Policy, the Automotive Components Manufacturing Policy and the National Agribusiness Policy (2026–2036).

She noted that the frameworks are designed to provide regulatory certainty, attract anchor industries, and create a sustainable ecosystem for industrial growth and job creation.

She said the project is being developed through a partnership between TDC Ghana Limited, the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC), and ARISE Integrated Industrial Platforms.

It is projected to create more than 4,000 direct jobs, while generating significant downstream economic activity across multiple sectors, she said.

The Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the project and to maximise its long-term impact on Ghana's industrial development agenda.

The ceremony marked the beginning of what government describes as a transformative public-private partnership aimed at expanding industrial capacity, creating jobs, and integrating local businesses into regional and global value chains.
