The La District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) Rev. George Anyetei Tsakle has called on fathers to lay a proper foundation by instilling unity in their homes.

"Try to be temperate, self-controlled and accommodative to one another,” he stated.

The District Minister Rev. George Tsakle made the call when he welcomed delegates to the 47th Annual Delegates Conference of the Ga Presbytery Men’s Fellowship, held at the Presbyterian Men’s Center at Doryumu in the Shai Osu-Doku District in the Greater Accra Region.

Rev. Tsakle said families are divided, churches are divided, good friends are breaking up and good relations are nothing to talk about. We see all this go on before our very eyes but we are quiet about it. But, as Christians, we have a responsibility of brighten the corner where we are.

Speaking on the theme “building on the foundation already laid, men use spiritual discipline as building blocks”. Rev. Tsakle urged men to keep to the Presbyterian discipline, which includes bible studies, meditation, prayer, fasting, worship, stewardship and generosity to build their spiritual discipline.

He said “when spiritual disciplines are not well and diligently observed and practiced, they may not be able to stand the test of time.”

The District Minister commended the Ga Presbytery Men’s Fellowship for their consistent contribution to the church. He said, “your commitment and dedication is what has brought the church this far”. He added that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has started its two hundred (200) years celebration, which comes off in 2028, while the La District is one hundred and seventy-eight (178) years.

Rev. George Tsakle on behalf of La District Session Council, La District Women’s Fellowship and La District Young People’s Guild, supported the conference with an unspecified amount and fruits.

In his part, the President of the Ga Presbytery Men’s Fellowship, Dr. Collins Oti Bekoe commended the La District for the outstanding reception and well-organised programme.

Dr. Collins Bekoe called on delegates to be objective in evaluating the reports and come out with recommendations that is solid and can build on the foundation already laid.
