Kwadaso MP reaffirms commitment to Beposo AstroTurf as stakeholders urged to support project completion

The Office of the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso has moved to clarify issues surrounding the Beposo AstroTurf project, assuring residents that the much-anticipated sports facility remains a priority and will be completed despite challenges related to funding and administrative processes.

In a statement issued by Mr. Boakye Joseph Danquah, Personal Assistant to the MP, the public was encouraged to approach discussions on the project with factual information and a spirit of collective responsibility, rather than assigning blame or spreading misinformation.

According to the statement, the Beposo AstroTurf project is being financed by Ghana National Gas Company through its corporate social investment initiatives.

The statement stressed that while the project is funded by the state-owned company, its successful acquisition was made possible through the persistent lobbying and advocacy of the Kwadaso MP, Kingsley Nyarko.

The MP's office outlined a series of engagements undertaken to keep the project on course.

Among them was a high-level meeting held in May 2025 between Prof. Nyarko and Ghana Gas Chief Executive Officer, Judith Adjobah Blay, at the Royal Senchi Hotel, where discussions focused on the continuation of the project.

The statement further revealed that on November 11, 2025, the MP held another meeting with the CEO at her office and subsequently engaged the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Alfred Ogbamey, to intensify follow-up efforts and address implementation concerns.

These interventions, according to the statement, led to visits by Ghana Gas officials to the project site, during which assurances were given that the project remained part of the company's development agenda.

Although the anticipated funds have not yet been fully released, the MP is said to have mobilized support to sustain preliminary works and prevent the project from grinding to a halt.

The statement noted that the visible progress recorded at the site is a testament to the determination of both the contractor and the MP, who have continued to push the project forward while awaiting the release of outstanding funds from Ghana Gas.

Recent developments also point to renewed momentum. The office disclosed that officials from the CSR Department of Ghana Gas recently dispatched a team to inspect projects in parts of the country, with plans to include a stop in Kwadaso ahead of a joint site inspection involving the MP and contractors in the coming weeks.

Addressing public concerns, the statement acknowledged that delays have occurred but emphasized that they stem largely from contractual and administrative processes rather than neglect or abandonment.

It reiterated comments made by Prof. Nyarko during a recent interview on Hello FM, where he openly discussed the challenges and reaffirmed his determination to see the project completed.

The MP's office also highlighted that Ghana Gas representatives have visited the project site on two occasions over the past year, an indication that the project remains active and under continuous review by the sponsoring institution.

Calling for unity, the statement urged traditional authorities, assembly members, youth groups, opinion leaders, and residents to work together in advocating for the release of the necessary resources to accelerate completion.

"The Beposo AstroTurf represents an investment in the future of our youth and community," the statement emphasized.

"It will serve as a platform for sports development, talent nurturing, social interaction, and community growth."

The office concluded by assuring residents that efforts toward completion remain ongoing and that the vision of delivering a modern sporting facility for Beposo and the wider Kwadaso Constituency remains firmly on course.
