The Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, Hon. Nikyema Billa Alamzy, has donated essential medical equipment worth GH¢80,600 to the Paga Hospital to support healthcare delivery and improve patient care in the district.

The donation, made in response to a request from the hospital, included an electric theatre bed, a theatre trolley, two LED lamps, and ten sets of metallic Out-Patient Department (OPD) chairs.

Hon. Alamzy was accompanied by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Stephen Akurugo Aeke, the Constituency Chairman, Constituency Executives, Assembly Members, and other party supporters during the presentation ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, the DCE described the items as critical equipment that would significantly enhance the hospital's operations and improve healthcare services for residents. He urged the management and staff of the facility to maintain the equipment properly, noting that responsible use would encourage future support.

Hon. Aeke reaffirmed the commitment of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to prioritising the welfare and wellbeing of citizens and assured residents that he and the MP would continue to collaborate to accelerate development across the district.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Alamzy said the equipment was intended to optimise workflow and strengthen service delivery at the hospital. He also commended the newly posted doctors for accepting postings to the facility, observing that many professionals would have declined such assignments.

The MP highlighted his previous contributions to the health sector, including the supply of 630 benches to health facilities across the district and two motorbikes to the Mental Health Unit of the District Health Directorate. He expressed satisfaction that all the critical items requested by the hospital had now been provided.

Despite these interventions, Hon. Alamzy stressed that his support for healthcare development would continue, pledging to contribute further towards improving healthcare services throughout the constituency.

He further disclosed that he is engaging relevant authorities to facilitate the completion of the Agenda 111 Hospital project in the district, emphasising that governance is a continuous process. He also reiterated his campaign promise to rehabilitate the broken ambulance donated by former MP, Hon. Leo Kaba.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the hospital, one of the newly posted doctors, Dr. John, expressed profound appreciation to the MP for the timely intervention. He noted that the donation would greatly ease the work of healthcare professionals and enhance patient care.

Dr. John particularly praised the electric theatre bed, describing it as one of the best available on the market and a valuable addition to the hospital's infrastructure.
