Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has been named the Ultimate Honouree in the Influential Personality category at the maiden edition of Christian Honours 2026, held in Accra.
The distinguished recognition was conferred in acknowledgement of his exceptional influence, enduring leadership, and transformative contribution to the growth of Christianity, national consciousness, and spiritual mentorship in Ghana and beyond for more than three to four decades.
Widely regarded as one of Africa’s most impactful Christian leaders, Archbishop Duncan-Williams has, over the decades, shaped lives through preaching, intercession, leadership development, and bold public advocacy on issues of faith and nationhood. His voice has remained a guiding force within Christendom, with influence stretching across generations, denominations, and national boundaries.
The Influential Personality category celebrates Christian leaders whose capacity to shape thought, inspire action, influence institutions, and command respect has produced measurable impact in both church and society for more than 35 years and beyond. While all honourees in the category were recognised with medals, citations and plaques, Archbishop Duncan-Williams emerged as the Ultimate Honouree.
Other personalities honoured in the category included: The Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, Rev. Dr. Robert Ampiah-Kwofi, Dr. Mensa Otabil, Rev. Steve Mensah, Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Markwei, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, Rev. Joseph Eastwood Anaba, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah, Rev. Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, Dr. Mrs. Dorothy Danso, and Rev. Dr. Christie Doe Tetteh.
In a further mark of distinction, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams was also honoured in the Religio-Politico Voice category, which recognises personalities whose spiritual authority and principled public voice have significantly shaped governance, values, and national discourse.
In that category, Rosalind Joyce Aryee emerged as the Ultimate Honouree, in recognition of her distinguished leadership, moral courage, and longstanding contribution to faith and national development.
Speaking at the ceremony, organisers reiterated that Christian Honours is not an award scheme driven by popularity but a sacred honouring platform rooted in the values of Reputation, Recognition, and Integrity.
They noted that the conferment on Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams reflects not only his years of labour, but the depth of influence he continues to wield in ministry, leadership, and national transformation.
Christian Honours 2026 brought together clergy, professionals, institutions, and dignitaries to celebrate individuals and organisations whose service, over three decades, has advanced the Kingdom of God and contributed significantly to national development.
The recognition of Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams as Ultimate Honouree for Influential Personality stood out as one of the defining moments of an unforgettable evening dedicated to honouring faithfulness, legacy, and impact.
